Yes, it seems that Plesk could be part of LAMP and SMTP, but if you really understand Plesk you quickly give up looking at it at the component level. Doing otherwise tempts you to think you can do things "differently" than the Plesk way. That smells like FAIL.
Why Plesk? Isn't that for dummies? No. PHP is for dummies. Plesk is for graphic designers stuck hosting their client's domains. It's also something I have to support at work, so, it's gonna get my attention.

Mail. Bane of the Internet -- but because it is still, even factoring in HTTP, pr0n, YouTubeâ„¢, and Fark.com, the 'killer app' of the Internet. Sendmail, Postfix, QMail, Apache JAMES and "other".
Wondering why I mention JAMES and relegate Exim to "other"? It's due to my personal background and the trauma I suffered supporting JAMES in a production environment prior to version 2.2.
